A product is looking different then in the past, is this normal?

Natural products can always change in shape, color or size. The natural composition and healthy nature of the products will not change. If you still have questions about a product, please contact us or your dealer.

Are all Akyra snacks for dogs or cats suitable?

No, for advice you can always contact us or your dealer. For example, it is better that you don't give products with real bone to dogs which are not used to chew harder bones. In an elimination diet it is the best way to give a snack from the same animal species then the food, and so they are lots of examples.

Are the Akyra snacks edited?

No, the snacks are only cutted and dried. Our snacks are completely free of additives such as preservatives, colorings or flavorings.

Is it possible that the bones in the Akyra snacks splinter?

No, splintering is prevented by drying at low temperature, the structure of the bones doesn't change. However, we recommend the snacks with real bone (by example the beef tail) only to animals that are used to eat harder snacks or that are fed raw because they must be able to digest these bones.

My dog or cat has a gluten allergy, are the Akyra snacks suitable?

Yes, in none of the products is grain added. However, when your dog or cat reacts very sensitively to corn, for example a chicken neck can also cause problems because there can be grain leftovers in this snack. Then to be sure you can also avoid the products which can contain some grain like necks or stomachs.

My vet recommends snacks of horse, is this a good idea?

The reason why your vet recommends this suggests that your dog or cat has an allergy or intolerance. Horse is a specie which is not frequently used in dog and cat food so it is mostly an hypoallergenic specie and a good choice to start with if there is a food allergy. You can extend this with other species later.

Since some time a product is no longer available in my store, what is the reason?

Not all species are available throughout the year, so it may be that a product is out of stock for a while. If you can see the product on our website, it will come back in stock, but it can take a while.

What is the advantage of giving Akyra snacks next to the food?

Mainly dogs need to chew something. The best way to satisfy this need is by giving them a natural dried chew, they have their work with it. If your (young) pet nibble your furniture or destroy his toys, a snack is a much tastier and safer alternative. And chewing is a natural way for the prevention of dental plaque. If your dog never gets a chew he will develop plaque much easier.

Why are the Akyra snacks healthy?

The Akyra snacks are healthy because they are simply dried. They had no other treatment or addition. They go back to the origin, a dog or cat descends from the wolf or lion who just eat preys. Corn, rice or other fillers do not belong to a balanced diet. Because of this reason, they are not added to our snacks.
